Mind in Haringey

Stars of the stage and screen to perform at benefit night for Mind in Haringey

A top-class line up will take to the stage of the Park Theatre in Finsbury Park on Sunday, November 6th to raise funds for mental health charity Mind in Haringey.

Among the stars of Transforming Minds will be Lee Latchford-Evans from pop band Steps and West End actress Alexandra Waite-Roberts (Top Hat, Mary Poppins).

Mind in Haringey is presenting this event in partnership with Siemens to fund a range of services for Haringey residents, including counselling, wellbeing activities and mental health first aid training.

Lynette Charles, CEO of Mind in Haringey, said: "Around one in four of us face a mental health problem every year. We hope to raise £10,000 on November 6th so we can continue to support Haringey people and promote wellbeing in the local community."

Juergen Maier, CEO for Siemens UK, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting this fantastic benefit event. Increasing the awareness of mental health and wellbeing is very important to us as a large employer. As such, we’re partnering with local MIND groups across the UK to support much needed services in the communities in which we operate. Last year our employees at the Hornsey Thameslink traincare depot raised over £8,500 for Mind in Haringey and look forward to raising even more in the future.”

Lee Latchford-Evans said: “They say 1 in 4 people will suffer with mental health. How do you help someone suffering from an illness that you cannot see? I am proud to support Mind in Haringey, who offer the help, understanding and support to those of us that need it in a world where anxiety, stigma and judgement play a huge part.”

All of the performers in Transforming Minds are passionate in their support of good quality mental health and wellbeing services in the community, and so have agreed to appear for free. The full line-up includes Danielle Kassaraté who has appeared in such stage shows as The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time and Dusty; Stefan Booth, best known for his appearances in Eastenders, Hollyoaks and The Bill  as well as musicals including Chicago, singer songwriter Kerry Lucy, and comedians Joseph Morpurgo and Sajeela Kershi. Spoken word artists Mike Garry and Farida and international music director David Carter will also be performing. Broadcaster David Akinsanya will act as MC for the evening.

All remaining tickets now £20.
