Claire van Kampen I Director

Claire van Kampen has been working in the world of theatre and film for 40 years. Initially trained as a pianist at the Royal College of Music, she became the first female Musical Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre in the same year- 1987. In 1997 she became Shakespeare’s Globe’s Director of Music, and Associate to Mark Rylance, and during her twenty-one year career at The Globe (now as Globe Associate), she is has created over 50 shows as composer, Director and playwright, receiving a Sam Wanamaker award in 2006 and was elected a Senior Research Fellow in 2015. She wrote Farinelli and the King for the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, which, through its further runs in London's West End and Broadway, acquired an Olivier Award nomination and a Tony Award nomination for Best Play. Claire is also a writer for TV and is developing Farinelli and the King for the big screen. Further projects as a director include The Other Place for the Park Theatre, London and Theatre by the Lake Keswick, and Calderon's Life is a Dream for Theatre for a New Audience, New York.

Paul Russell I Lighting Designer

Paul is a freelance Lighting Designer, Production/ Project Manager and Candle expert.

John Leonard I Sound Designer

John Leonard started work in theatre sound 45 years ago, and has provided soundtracks for theatres all over the world. He has written an acclaimed guide to theatre sound, is the recipient of Drama Desk, LDI Sound Designer of The Year and USITT Distinguished Career Awards and is a Fellow of The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and an Honorary Fellow of The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts.

Tiwalade Ibirogba- Olulode I Assistant Director

Tiwalade Ibirogba- Olulode graduated from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York in 2015. She grew a love for writing and wrote her first full-length play RUSH, which recently premiered at The Space Theatre in London. When she left New York she planned to spend a small amount of time in Lagos, Nigeria, but once there got engaged in creative projects and extended her stay to a year where she continued to explore the performing arts industry. This included writing her second full-length play Everyday and getting it picked up by Freedom Parks' resident theatre company Oxzygen Koncepts, which she is excited to bring to London in the near future. On returning to the UK in 2017, Tiwalade joined the National Youth Theatre, which then led on to her becoming a young actor with the Lyric Hammersmith and Almeida companies. She is excited to continue shaping her artistic craft.

 

Antonia Franceschi I Movement Director

Antonia Franceschi was one of the last generations selected by George Balanchine to join The New York City Ballet, and is a Time Out Award winner for Outstanding Achievement In Dance. She’s had works created for her by Balanchine, Robbins, Martins, McGregor, Baldwin, Clarke, Phillips, Lucovich, Armitage and Van Laast. She starred in Fame and performed The Vagina Monologues, and wrote Up From The Waste (Soho Theatre), and POP8 (The Lion & Unicorn Theatre). Antonia was a judge on The BBC’s Young Dancer Competition. She formed her Company AFD Just Dance to sold out performances at The Valetta's Opera House Malta and The Royal Winchester UK. She is an award winning producer of The New York Ballet Stars (The Royal Festival Hall, The Queen Elizabeth Hall), and toured Harrogate and the Sintra Festival.

Antonia has choreographed for several European and American companies most recently she had two NY premiers, She Holds Out Her Hand with The New York Theater Ballet collaborating with Claire Van Kampen and Say My Name Barnard/Columbia Dancers with composers Karen Le Fraktur and Allen Shawn. She adores teaching The Royal Ballet, Rambert, Random, and Richard Alston among others.

 She recently choreographed Othello at The Globe Theater.
