Script Accelerator is a yearly programme designed to support emerging practitioners. Join us over two evenings for a window into the process of bringing a new play to life. We want to hear your opinion in these early stages of development - what’s landing, what could use more work? Come have a say into what work we should be staging.
A number of shows from the programme have gone on to perform our Park90 stage, including Storm In A Tea Cup, World Enough And Time and Happy To Help.
This year, our programme has had more applicants than ever, and we are proud to present extracts of five new pieces from a truly exceptional selection of young creatives.

Symbiosis (Namashkar)
A seemingly normal man’s ordinary life is shattered into pieces when he becomes convinced a parasitic fungus has infiltrated his brain. Manifesting itself as a what appears to be a humanoid creature, the parasite attempts to coerce the man to her will. The man must examine his past, present and future to find the truth about the creature and come face to face with secrets he has hidden deep within his memories.
Footsteps (Unbound Productions)
When Michael goes on holiday to catch up with an old university friend, he does not expect to find himself stood on an unexploded bomb from a now-forgotten war. Footsteps is a play about nation, responsibility, and sausages.

Sugar Pills (Paradox Theatre)
Rachel and Ollie are misfits in society, brought together by their admittance to an NHS psychiatric ward. A heartfelt retelling of boy meets girl involving cigarettes, prescriptions, doodle jump and two people who cling to one another in the most unlikely place.
Roosting (Flux Theatre)
Ali has given up her career and is nursing a screaming baby in an ex-council flat in Streatham; next-door neighbour Charlie has been expelled from school and is desperate to lose her virginity. Roosting sees an unlikely relationship develop between two very different woman at home in the daytime, and watches them search for a sense of autonomy in a big, changing world.
Spiderfly (Metal Rabbit)
A year after the trial, still bruised and grieving, Esther attempts to take control of her life by visiting the murderer of her sister. But getting to know him unravels the relationships with those closest to her and threatens to tangle her in the killer’s emotional web.
