Rehearsed Reading by Script Readers in association with Park Theatre

In Denial

By James Woolf

Troubled by an unpleasant row that blows up on the night they become engaged, Amelia and Toby consult a compatibility counsellor for a professional view on their prospects together. The advice is that their relationship is not sustainable, but Amelia and Toby press ahead with their wedding plans regardless. In Denial follows their turbulent and at times abusive relationship over the course of 2016, against a backdrop of the UK’s unexpected vote to terminate its relationship with the EU.

“A modern and peppy play which would find an audience with a good cast. Certainly worth a try out production” Kenny Wax – producer

“Boatloads of potential in its blending of personal/sexual politics with the civic politics of our very recent history....” New Writing South script report
