Rehearsed Reading by Script Readers in association with Park Theatre

Cross Talk

By Maura Campbell

Nineteen-year-old Grassie just got out of detox and attends his first Narcotics Anonymous meeting on Thanksgiving Day. Dazed and confused, he meets the characters who will guide him through his first day clean: Jonnny, the meeting chairperson; Jill, a single mother who has lost custody of her kids; Brianna, pregnant and still at-risk; Marcy, an out-of-towner who stumbles into the “wrong” meeting; Buzz, a habitual relapser; and Ryder also from out-of-town, who has a sinister link to Brianna’s past.

Cross Talk is a story about addicts and their sacred lives, and the message of hope and love manifest through their struggles to stay clean by staying together.
