Recruiting for new Script Accelerator Mentees!

13 September 2018

Script Accelerator is a yearly programme designed to support emerging practitioners. Each year producers, or theatre companies, are invited to pitch a particular play they would like to develop - and six are selected into the programme.

Each successful applicant, along with their team, will be offered space for Rehearsal and Development in order to develop the script and prepare a twenty-minute extract of the play to be performed on the Park200 stage. The extracts will be performed on a Sunday and a Monday.

Pieces are selected on the merit of the script and, vitally, on future life potential. A number have previously gone on to our Park90 stage, including Storm in a Tea Cup by Hot Coals Theatre Ensemble, World Enough And Time by Sarah Sigal, Happy To Help by Michael Ross, Distance by Alex McSweeney, and A Pupil by Jesse Briton.

Script Accelerator is led by Associate Artistic Director, Melli Marie with the opportunity for feedback from Artistic Director, Jez Bond and Executive Director, Rachael Williams. The programme will be facilitated by Script Accelerator Coordinator, Celia Dugua. Each producer will be appointed a mentee to join their team. The mentee is matched with each producer based on their interests and the skills they are eager to develop.

Mentees

Criteria

Mentees will be selected to support the teams with the rehearsal, development and delivery of their work. Mentees will be given the opportunity to assist and take part in the professional development process of a new piece of writing within a professional London theatre.

You do not need any skills or experience to take part other than a keen interest in making and delivering theatre in a professional environment to a high standard.

After all applications are reviewed a shortlist will be announced. We will then hold interview sessions before announcing successful applicants. We are looking for applicants from all backgrounds who will benefit from the experience and responsibilities offered through the programme.

Payment

Each mentee will be granted up to £250 towards expenses.
