INTERACTIVE TOURS & WORKSHOPS
Choose one of our options OR create your own visit!
One Hour Theatre Tour
This tour is a learning led visit, completely interactive, with access to all areas. The tour is very much geared towards the children leading their own learning and asking questions along the way. We introduce them to our theatre and ethos; we discuss all the aspects of the building and how it works and the shows.
Half Hour Theatre Tour/ Half Hour Performance Workshop
The tour is learning led and we give a great overview of the building - what we do and who we are - the children will get to see everything and ask questions (any questions not answered can be emailed post-workshop and we will answer them). In the workshop - this is an introduction to theatre making at Park Theatre - we focus on VOICE, BODY and MIND with an emphasis on working as a team. This workshop is the ideal taster class for any student who would like to take our regular Saturday classes.
One Hour Performance Workshop
This option is a great intro to the theatre, with the focus on VOICE, BODY and MIND and an emphasis on working as a team. This is a more in-depth workshop and is great for students to build confidence and unite as a team with a professional setting and practice. For a more bespoke option, we can encorporate themes/topics you are working on in-class with your students!
Half Hour Theater Tour/ Half Hour Technical Workshop
The tour is learning led and we give a great overview of the building - what we do and who we are. The children will get to see everything and ask questions (any questions not answered can be emailed post workshop and we will answer them). The technical workshop is a half hour with our technical team discussing the lighting, sound and all technical aspects of the theatre. The students will have an opportunity to visit our tension wire grid, which we must have a signed release form from parents that students are comfortable with heights. The grid is a really exciting place to visit and see the stage from. It offers the vantage point rarely seen and gives the real thrill of what it means to be part of the technical team at Park Theatre.
Please get in touch to book your workshop. Not sure? Here what one of our biggest groups thought about us:
“We took three classes of Year 4 children to the Park Theatre to have a tour and experience acting on the stage. When we arranged the visit, the staff were very professional and keen to meet our needs. They arranged the activities around our curriculum and kept the children fully engaged the whole time. The environment itself is perfect for children, not too large but still gives them the wow factor. Along with this, the environment was very safe and perfect for a class visit (toilets easily accessible and plenty of space for lunch!) Pupils were given the opportunity to ask questions and lead their own learning. At the end of the school year, the children write reports to go home about the year. Many of the children described the trip as their favourite and most memorable experience. We are really keen to continue a working relationship with the theatre.” Tiffany Luckett - teacher at Hillyfield Primary School
