Park Theatre Younger Company Autumn 2021

21 September 2021 - 30 November 2021

What is it?

This is a weekly course for young people aged 12-14 of all abilities who enjoy all aspects of theatre, including acting, creating and having fun in an energetic and supportive environment. Our participants will be looking at scripts and bringing characters to life, as well as exploring their own identity and passion as artists.

Course Content

Weeks 1-2:
In these sessions we will get to know each other through fun drama games and exercises so that everyone feels comfortable as we create a supportive ensemble.

Weeks 2-5:
We will look more closely at the themes of A Place For We by Archie Maddocks which will form the inspiration for the scripts we will be working on and pieces we will create. These weeks will include character and voice work as well as movement and scripts.

Weeks 6-9:
We will further develop skills in voice, movement and devising, and put them to practice when rehearsing and creating short scenes.

Week 10:
In our final session together, we will rehearse our pieces and share them in a scratch night at 7pm in the Morris Space to celebrate all of our creativity this term!
