What It Is
A free weekly session 17th October - 19th December 2016. 
Mondays 11:30am - 1pm at Park Theatre
Each week we have social time with a hot or cold drink in the cafe, a chance to relax, chat and get to know the group.
For people affected by dementia and their carers

Who It’s For
This course is designed for both types of participants - those who are affected by dementia and those who care for a person affected by dementia (whether a family member or personal assistant. Most beneficial for early onset dementia - but we can also accept later stages - please discuss with us in your sign up email. 

Course content
Lead by our specialist drama teachers we will explore: theatrical ideas, your imagination, multi-sensory and other techniques for connection.

The workshop will enhance well-being, communication (including non-verbal), playfulness, collaboration and having fun. It is a place to feel supported and relaxed.

We are also looking for volunteers to engage with the project and become a buddy for the participants. There will be a introduction session for all volunteers in advance of the course. To be a volunteer for this course please fill out this form, return and register your interest by emailing:

Training session for volunteers: 10th October 

11:15am arrival for all 

11:30-12:30pm  A dementia friends session with Julia Wood

12:30-1:30 pm - Safeguarding session with Rachel Adelson-Kettle from the Safeguarding Islington Adults team

1:30-2pm short lunch break

2pm-2:30pm Course session with our workshop leaders Amy Allen and Caroline Jeryaratnam-Joyner
