Let's get physical! Unarmed stage combat.

What is it?

A 3-hour introduction to stage combat with Charlotte Price.

What's it about?

Charlotte will be guiding you through the basic principles of unarmed stage combat, focusing particularly on telling the story through acting; combat is just as much about the acting as it is the technique!

You will work with Charlotte to learn a range of basic unarmed techniques, leading to a short piece of choreography. By the end of the session you should have an understanding of the foundations of stage combat, with an awareness of safety principles combined with some knowledge of ‘how to sell it’ to a theatre audience. This 3 hour masterclass does not provide any official qualifications but should hopefully inspire you to want to take your combat training further to achieve an industry-recognised qualification in a full length examination course.

This course is for anyone with no (or little) previous stage combat experience.

Who is this for?

This masterclass is open to young people aged 16 – 26 who are Park Up members. Park Up is free to join – click here to find out more. No previous experience is necessary!

What do I need to bring/prepare?

No previous combat experience necessary as this is a basic introduction!
Please bring water.
Must be wearing trainers and movement- friendly clothing (preferably no zips)
Long hair must be tied back and all jewellery removed.
Be in the space, ready to start at 6:30pm.
