Act & Play (7-11s) Summer Project

16 August 2021 - 20 August 2021

If these trees could talk

What is it?

This is a fun, creative and playful week based outdoors for 7-11 years to explore re-connecting with nature, themselves and each other. Through exciting drama games and inspiring exercises, we will create an interactive performance piece to share in beautiful Finsbury Park itself.

Course Content

If these trees could talk, what might they say?

Over the week we will be based outside in Finsbury Park exploring different ways that we can tell stories with our voices, bodies, writing and art. We will be conscious of the environment we are in and focus on connecting with nature as well as each other.

Examples of fun exercises may include but not be limited to: recording soundscapes, acting out scenes, writing/ speaking poetry, making art out of recycled materials, movement, dance.

Make new friends playing drama games and enjoy a lunch break together

Guided by exercises such as the ones mentioned above, and how the young people choose to answer the question ‘If these trees could talk, what might they say?’  We will work as a group to create a performance piece to share to an invited audience in Finsbury Park.

This week is very much based on play & imagination, and is open to anyone aged 7-11 who enjoys being in the park and having fun!

We can’t wait to explore the outside and create a new performance with you!
