Act & Play 7-11 Spring 2022 Project

22 January 2022 - 02 April 2022

What is it?

This is a weekly course for children aged 7-11 who enjoy drama, play and having fun in a supportive, friendly environment. Over the course, we will develop skills in acting, movement, voice and theatre-making. Taking inspiration from our in-house production of Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 2 by Jez Bond & Mark Cameron, we will create our own pieces of theatre, look at other scripts and present our work in a relaxed sharing on Sat 2 Apr at 11.30.

Course Content

Weeks 1-2:

These weeks will be spent getting to know each other through games and enjoyable exercises, so that everyone feels comfortable and supported.

Weeks 2-5:

During these weeks we will build on our skills as actors and theatre-makers through exciting exercises and games. We will discover the types of stories and plays that interest us and develop our voices and bodies to create a variety of characters.

Weeks 6-9

During these weeks, we will explore the themes in the murder mystery show Whodunnit[Unrehearsed] 2. We will look at similar scripts for young people and develop the characters and stories already explored in previous weeks.

Week 10:

In our final session together, we will rehearse our pieces and show them in a relaxed sharing in the Morris Space at 11.30 to celebrate all we have achieved this term!
