This morning, following an interesting meeting with a couple of producers on site, I proceeded to Pooles Park Primary School, who for the past few months have very kindly been home to our N4 Stories workshops. Sarah, our writer in residence, had furiously worked for just two hours with a group of (now somewhat regular) actors to cobble together a mini ‘Best of N4 Stories’. I had seen a few hot seating sessions before and some improvised scenes and was eager to get a flavour of what promised to be a mixed platter.

I was truly blown away by the work that had obviously gone into the research and development of these characters. The thirty minute playlet was a fascinating insight into a part of Finsbury Park, showing a deep layer to the characters and themes of the area. Many strong issues shone through, highlighted all be personal stories and memories and they were simply and effectively woven together to create a very captivating piece of theatre.

The challenge for Sarah is now what to take from this as she moves forward towards a full script!

Many thanks and huge congratulations to Sarah and all the phenomenally committed and energetic actors who have been involved so far. A great achievement!
