MY FIRST BLOG
by JJ Almond
Well this is my first Blog, so I am JJ, I am the interim Executive Director. Our Trustees (Management Committee) are currently in the process of recruiting a permanent Executive Producer to replace this role.
My role is to oversee the organisation with Jez, Melli and Dorcas. The main focus is the money and how we use it as well as the nuts and bolts of how all the departments work.
Last night was the Press Night for The Door, following hot on the tails of Press Night for The Dead Wait - two fabulous shows that everyone should see! Press nights are always fun, with so many people, famous faces and the press and with a press night comes a huge work load for Tom (Our Front of House and Box Office Manager),Androulla, Raya, Hannah and the rest of the Box Office Team and of course all of our AMAZING VOLUNTEERS!
This week the big push has been on preparing for Season 3 (a VERY EXCITING Season), which would be impossible without Amy (Assistant to the Directors) as she actually types ups and sends all the contracts out. Her week has been crazy as everything has come at once - contracts for cast and creatives for Stroke of Luck, panto and then Season 3 in Park 90 and Park 200!!!
Also this week some work has been completed on inviting more people to join our Friends Scheme, thinking also that memberships and naming seats are great Christmas gifts and we are re-doubling our efforts to raise more funds through donations as we plough in to Winter! All our fundraising work is managed by Dorcas Morgan, who joined the team not too long ago and she has really got stuck in to meeting our Friends and making links with all sorts of other organisations and people that we can work with!
Jez and Melli have had some away day time too this week to continue to plan and develop the artistic focus of the Park - more updates on that as they report back!
Well I think that is a pretty good round up of our week, and I hope to see you all at the theatre very very soon!
