Welcome Back: Visitor Safety Advice


We can't wait to reopen our doors to our community once more. We've been working hard to make sure that we can reopen safely and are following all of the up to date Covid-19 and social distancing guidelines.

We have reviewed the seating in both of our auditoria and reduced the audience capacity to ensure that audience bubbles will be seated at least 1m apart. This includes leaving space either side of each bubble and respacing or blocking off rows to allow additional space in front and behind.

We have introduced extra measures including: additional cleaning, thermal scanners, screens at box office and the bar, hand sanitising stations, contactless ticketing, reducing audience capacity and having extra front of house staff to assist in social distancing.

Please be aware that due to the pandemic we have reduced staffing capacity and therefore we will be slower to respond to emails than usual. If you have any issues booking, or need to speak to somebody urgently about a ticketing enquiry, please email [email protected]

Booking a Ticket


Contactless Tickets: All our tickets will now be issued as e-tickets with QR barcodes, which can be shown on your smartphone/ tablet or printed at home. Paper tickets will no longer be available.


Audience Bubbles: All groups must be from a single household or support bubble and not exceed 6 people. For Park200 reserved seating, tickets will be sold in pre-set group sizes as seen on the seating plan. For Park90 unreserved seating, the maximum amount of tickets available per group (from the same household or support bubble) is 6. Ushers and front of house staff will allocate your seating on arrival. Please wait to be seated.


Advance Booking Only: Tickets must be booked in advance either on the website or over the phone. Sales for a performance will close 1 hour before the performance starts. Please only attend the venue if you have booked tickets in advance.

Book with confidence: We have updated our refunds, returns and exchange policy to give customers greater flexibility.


Food and drink: We regret that Park Theatre will not be serving food for the time being. We will run a pre show and interval bar only. There are a number of great restaurants in the area to eat before the show including Pasta Remoli, Tenmaru, My Cottage Café and The Terrace.

Telephone box office opening hours are:

Mon - Sat from 9am - 6pm, Sun & Bank Holidays from 10am - 6pm (during lockdown the box office will not be taking calls on Sundays and bank holidays). Closed Christmas day.

Telephone booking fee: 10% (capped at £2.50 per ticket). Please bear in mind there may be a wait during peak times.

Booking not available at the theatre Box Office

Tickets may not be booked in person at the venue at this time. Please only book tickets in advance and do not arrive at the theatre without a booking. 


Before your Visit


Feeling Unwell? It is important that you do not come to the theatre if you or anyone in your group:

  • is infected with COVID-19, or are showing any symptoms
  • has experienced symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • has been in close proximity to anyone who has experienced symptoms in the last 14 days
  • has been instructed to self-isolate or are awaiting a COVID-19 test result


Covid 19 Refunds, Exchanges and Returns policy: We endeavour to give customers freedom and peace of mind so you can book with confidence. If the venue cancels your performance due to Covid-19, or if you or a member of your party have to self-isolate, you have the option to: transfer your booking to another available performance free of charge; request a credit note to be used on another performance; request full refund (up to 24 hours before the start of the performance). Email [email protected] if you need help managing your booking.


Face coverings: Bring a face covering which you must wear at all times inside the venue, except for when drinking (for as briefly as possible).


Be prepared for changes in temperature: To keep a good flow of air through the building we will be using our air conditioning system to full effect, which may make the building and the auditorium colder than usual. Please bring extra layers as required.


Travel: Consider your travel options in advance and try to cycle or walk to the theatre where possible. Please make sure you arrive at the theatre in good time. Please be advised that there is little to no parking available and restrictions apply in the local area.


Pack Light: Limit the number of unnecessary items you bring to the theatre. We don’t have a cloakroom or bag storage facilities and large bags can’t be taken into the auditorium.


When you Arrive


Arrive in good time: The auditorium doors will open 30 minutes before the performance starts.


Wear a face covering: Please put your face covering on before entering the building and wear it for the duration of your visit.

Welcome: Upon arrival there will be a team member to help answer questions and point people in the right direction.  


Sanitise Your Hands: We will have hand sanitiser available as you enter and in key locations across the building


Temperature Check: As you enter we’ll carry out a temperature check using a thermal imaging camera.


Ticket Collection: We now operate a paperless, contactless system so all e-tickets are e-mailed to you. The e-ticket will contain a QR code and barcode that can be displayed on a smart phone or a tablet. There is no need to go to box office – you can head straight to the auditorium and one of our ushers will scan your ticket. Alternatively you can print the e-ticket and bring it with you. If you have any problems, our friendly box office and front of house teams are on hand to assist.


Latecomers: Please note that on many performances for reasons of health and safety and audience enjoyment we cannot admit latecomers. We are unable to offer exchanges or refunds on tickets for latecomers.


Inside the Theatre


Keep Socially Distant: During your visit please ensure you maintain a safe distance from anyone outside your bubble at all times.

Inside the auditorium: Please be aware you may need to leave your seats in the auditorium to allow other patrons to pass safely at a social distance


Follow The Routes: There is a one way system around the theatre and patrons may be required to wait it designated areas if queues are too long. Please maintain social distancing.


Food and drink: We regret that we are unable to serve food at this time. We will operate a pre show bar from 2pm on matinee performances and 6.30pm on evening performances. Drinks should be preordered where possible and in line with government guidance, must be consumed in your seat. Interval drinks can be collected from designated drinks collection stations outside the auditorium.


Contactless payments: We ask customers to make contactless payments (without cash) wherever possible

After the Show


Staggered Exit: We will be asking everyone to leave the auditorium in groups to help with social distancing. Please stay in your seat at the end of the performance and wait until one of our team directs you to leave.


Frequently Asked Questions

I had a booking for the Jan – Jul 2020 season that may be unresolved

Due to the temporary closure of Park Theatre due to the impact of COVID-19 (coronavirus), all productions in our Jan – Jul 2020 season have unfortunately been cancelled. If you had tickets to a production you will have been contacted by a member of our box office team to arrange a donation, credit note or refund. We endeavoured to contact all customers, however if we were unable to reach you then you will have been issued a credit note to the equivalent value of your original booking. Credit notes will be valid for one year from Park Theatre’s reopening. If you have any queries about cancelled bookings, please email [email protected]

Thank you to all customers who were able to donate part, or all, of their tickets to Park Theatre to help us stay afloat during these tough times. For all those who kindly donated, we have added a complementary one year Key Keeper membership to your account, the benefits of which include priority booking.


When can I book tickets/ when will Park Theatre reopen?

The best way to stay up to date on Park Theatre’s reopening plans is to follow us on social media: Facebook, Instagram & Twitter. You can sign up to Park Theatre’s newsletter via the form at the bottom of our web page to receive updates when they become available. The easiest way to book tickets is online.


A show I booked for has been cancelled – can I have a refund?

If your production is unable to go ahead for any reason due to the pandemic, you will be entitled to a full refund. Alternatively, we can issue a credit note into your Park Theatre account to be used on a future performance. As a small charity with no regular public funding we also welcome ticket donations for those who are able to.


I, or a member of my party, has tested positive for Covid-19, what should I do?

If you, or a member of your party, has tested positive for Covid-19 in the 14 days prior to your performance, you may not attend. Please contact the box office on [email protected] and we will re-book you into a later date, issue a credit note or refund. The exchange fee will be waived in this instance.


I have a credit note or gift voucher on my Park Theatre account – will I still be able to use it when you re-open?

Gift vouchers and credit notes are valid for one year from the point of activation. We will reset credit note start dates to be valid from one year from reopening. If you are worried that your credit note or gift card has expired during 2020, please contact the box office and we will be happy to extend the end date to make up for lost time. Your credit note will appear as a payment type when you log in to your account online to book a ticket.


Can I make a donation to the theatre?

Park Theatre is a registered charity (number 11372230) that does not receive regular government or Arts Council funding. The easiest way to help ensure the future of Park Theatre is to donate to our Park Life Fund HERE. Thank you for your support!


I am a Park Keeper – will my membership renew automatically? How can I renew?

If you are a Park Keeper and your membership is set to automatically renew (for example on Direct Debit), this will continue as normal. However, once we reopen, we will arrange to extend your membership to match any period of closure so that you are in receipt of a full 12 months of benefits.
