"Money’s not an achievement in itself.”

It’s the Christmas party and LCR are expecting a special announcement, but when a private document is discovered it’s more than party poppers which are set to explode.

The marketing team battle their way through social media campaigns and alcohol dependency, while the telesales department balance their time on the phones with putting together the perfect party play list. All team allegiances are thrown in the air however when the mysterious company founder decides to show his face at the Christmas do.

As inflation soars with wages lagging way behind Martin Murphy’s new play exposes the gross inequalities in the workplace focusing on the race, gender and class unbalances in pay. While hard hitting in places Lucre tackles these subject matters with a generous sprinkling of humour.

Lucre follows on from director Amy Allen & writer Martin Murphy’s previous collaborations Close, Fixed, Refuge and Jury which received a OnComm Commendation from the Off West End Awards.
