Exhibition: Young People in the Digital Age
For the launch of ‘Sket’ by Maya Sondhi at Park Theatre, YOUTH CLUB partners with director Prav MJ to develop ‘Young People in the Digital Age’, a photographic exhibition celebrating youth culture through digital technology.
Reflecting on topics raised in ‘Sket’ such as technology, relationships, privacy and control, ‘Young People in the Digital Age’ incorporates photographs from the YOUTH CLUB Archive of youth spanning over the last 35 years by over 12 photographers.
Sourcing through our extensive archive, a series of images are carefully curated to look at friendship, young love and the role of mobile phones in the development of the relationships of young people. From the embracing couple at a festival, to the exuberant group of friends photographing a gig, mobile phones are inherent to the fabric of young relationships and are here to stay.
YOUTH CLUB incorporates 300,000 photographs from over 380 photographers documenting youth culture over the 70 years. From the Teddy Boys to the Nu Ravers, YOUTH CLUB is a comprehensive photographic collection of youth tribes and subcultures.
