Waat a week!

by Sophie Gill (Assistant Director)

It's been an action packed week here in Nowen! On Monday, Claire from RC Annie (@rcannie) joined us to teach some of the cast how to fight safely on stage. She got them to pretend to be proud monkeys riding on fat pigs, apparently this helps to get into the correct fighting stance! It was fascinating to see the actors learning different types of stance, and tricks for falling over without hurting themselves. Thanks to a lot of hard work from the stage management team, this was also the first day we had most of the set and props in the rehearsal room - a great start to the week.

Tuesday and Wednesday saw the cast continuing to polish their solo choreography with Melli, and she add the finishing touches to the group routines. Josephine, the costumer, joined us to fit the last few costumes too, which has really helped the characters come to life.

We also got to see full runs of the play this week, so Tamar and I have often been called upon to stand in for audience members during Tupperware evaluations. We also spent time plotting out where additional music is needed for scene changes, and checking that the action will be clear from different seats in the auditorium.

Next week we'll be moving out of the rehearsal room into Park 200, and will get to add in pyrotechnics!

We open on Wednesday so grab your tickets while you still can!
